Would You Like to Help Touch the Lives of Our Youth?
The Rotary Club of Indio is proud to
announce the date of the upcoming
23rd Annual Coachella Valley
Middle School Math Field Day. This year’s
edition will be held on
Saturday, May 13th, 2017 at John Glenn
Middle School in Indio.
Math Field Day began in 1995.
Our Indio Rotary Club President at the time,
our late 4th District
County Supervisor John J. Benoit, found
there was a lack of funds in education for
extracurricular
activities. Coachella Valley students were
not participating in the
Riverside Math Field Day. Through his
leadership, the Indio Rotary stepped up and
organized this event.
Since then, the Coachella Valley annually
celebrates the math prowess of our middle
school students.
This event was created to promote math as a
fun subject. So much of what we
do is grounded in math.
The activities at this event encourage
middle school students to sharpen their math skills. Think of this as
the Olympics for our “mathaletes”. There are
a number of competitions recognizing and celebrating these
student’s math abilities. Students compete
individually for awards, as well as for their schools.
Without the assistance of our brothers and
sisters in the other desert Rotary Clubs, as well as with the support
from the business community, this event
could not be put on. As we prepare for our 2017 Math Field Day, we
are asking you to please consider
sponsorship opportunities to help us keep the tradition, started by John J.
Benoit, ongoing for years to come.
Platinum Sponsorship: $1,000
Gold Sponsorship: $500
Silver Sponsorship: $250
Bronze Sponsorship: $100
